Our Mission

Our goal is simple: save you time and money. Shopping online shouldn't mean opening dozens of tabs, comparing prices manually, and wondering if you're getting ripped off. We automate the entire process, delivering the best deals in seconds.

We believe price comparison should be instant, accurate, and trustworthy. That's why we built Newlyripe—to make manual price hunting obsolete.

How Our Search Works

When you search for a product, here's what happens behind the scenes:

Parallel Multi-Retailer Search

We simultaneously query 40+ retailers including Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Target, eBay, Newegg, and many more. This happens in parallel for maximum speed.

Intelligent Product Matching

Our AI identifies when different retailers are selling the exact same product. We use model numbers, brand matching, and title similarity analysis to group identical items—even when they're listed differently.

Quality Filtering

We automatically filter out:

  • Out-of-stock items
  • Used or refurbished products (unless you specifically searched for them)
  • Auction listings
  • Accessories when you searched for main products

You only see what's actually available and relevant.

Price Normalization

All prices are converted to a common currency (USD) for accurate comparison. We then display prices in your regional currency (CA$ for Canada, $ for US).

Best Deal Identification

We identify the lowest price for each product. The "Lowest Price Found" badge only appears when we've confirmed a product is available at multiple retailers and one has the lowest price. We're conservative with this badge—better to show no badge than award it incorrectly.

How We Rank Results

Products are sorted using a smart ranking system designed to show you what matters most:

1. Relevance First

Products that best match your search query appear at the top. If you search for "laptop," we filter out accessories like laptop bags or chargers.

2. Best Deals Prioritized

Products with the "Lowest Price Found" badge (confirmed lowest price across multiple retailers) are promoted to help you save money.

3. Price (Low to High)

After relevance and deals, products are sorted by price—cheapest first.

4. Quality Score Tiebreaker

When products have the same price, we use quality signals (ratings × number of reviews) to break ties.

5. Amazon Optimization

We prioritize up to 3 high-quality Amazon products in the top results. Why? Amazon products offer direct navigation (one click to product page) and help support our platform through affiliate commissions—at no cost to you.

Why We Show Savings

When you see Save $49.99 (33% off), this represents the difference between the current best price and what other retailers are charging for the same product. This helps you quickly identify the biggest savings opportunities.

Regional Filtering

We automatically detect your location and show only products available in your region:

  • US users see products from Amazon.com, Walmart US, Best Buy US, etc.
  • Canadian users see products from Amazon.ca, Walmart Canada, Best Buy Canada, etc.

All prices are displayed in your regional currency for clarity.

Data Accuracy

We strive for accuracy, but please note:

  • Prices and availability are fetched in real-time but may change between your search and when you click through to the retailer
  • Some retailers update their inventory more frequently than others
  • Final price and availability are always confirmed on the retailer's website

We recommend verifying the price on the retailer's site before completing your purchase.
